A HEAVY SENTENCE,

At tho Supremo Court, Dunedin, yesterday, the jury, returned a veVdieb df guilty, bufc sentence waa deferred, in the case of James Alford and James Russell, stealing a trough of platinum from the Now, Zealand Drug Company. As a result of the robbery, the wor^ka are stopped for six months* anda number of men have been, , thrown put of work. (The manufacture ofl' Bulphuric. acid cannot be resumed until .another trough is imported from England. To-day, Alford was sentenced to seven . years and Russell to four years' imprisonment. :
