ANNEXATION PROPOSALS.
London, April 30. The " Globe," referring to the attitude of New South Wales upon the Samoan question, considers ib has created an international and colonial complication which will result in a deadlock of the first magnitude.
The "Times" thinks Sir George Dibbs desires to see Greab Britain exercise a protectorate over Samoa, leaving the question open till colonial federation is completed. The " Times " thinks ib is beyond doubb that Germany intends to claim her full rights,
The " Standard's " Berlin correspondent believes the controversy will end in slight changes being made in the present method of control.
Berlin, April 30.
An inspired article in the " North German Gazette " contends than any protectorate in Samoa other than German is impossible. The German press continues to discuss the matter in heated terms.
