TAKAPONA FOOTBALL CLUB
Tiik annual meeting of the Takapuna Football Club waft held last nigbb. The statement of accounts read abowed that the club had a successful season tast year, the receipts being £32 13s sd, and expenditure £33 7e, while for the accident fund the receipts were £3 19a and e*xpenditnre £3. The club played 16 matches, winning 11, and losing 5. It was agreed^ not to join any association, but to play outside matches. The following officers were elected : — Patron, Mr E. W. Alison ; Vice-Patron, Hon. E. Mitcbelson ; President, Colonel Goring; Vice-Presidente, Messrs J. 0. Webster^ R. Logan Jan., (>. M. Reid, J. J. Swinnerton, Captain Farquhar, Rowley Hill. Robert Logan (Wellington), E- W. Burgess, F. Mason, G. L. Peacocke; Captain, Mr \V. J. Walker ; Vice-Captain, Mr W. Francis; Committee, Messrs Francis, VVooller, King, Gerrard, Parsons, with the Captain and Secretary ; Secretary. Mr C. M. Davis ; Treasurer, Mr P. T. Phillips. HAMILTON FOOTBALL CLUB, ' The members of the Hamilton Football Club held their annual meeting on Saturday night) nb the Waikato "Times" Buildings, when twenty five members were present, Mr T. G. Sandes being in the chair. After the minute? had been read, new members (ten in all) were elected, ! bringing the total number up to about) fifty? The financial abatement and Secre* tary's report were road and adopted. The Club is a few pounds in debt, but expenses were-heavy last year, and the subscription was only.half-acrown. This year it has been fixed at live shillings and the debit balance will > soon be cleared off. Before tho election Of officers camo ofT, the Chairman made a few remarks aa to the lobb by death of one of their Vice-Presidents —one who had always had the interests of the game at heart) and who had at all times assisted the Club materially with a whole heart. He alluded to the late "Jack MeNicol," and he mentioned that the. Waikato Rugby Union had sent a band' some wreath in memoriam, consisting of tho monogram of the Union (W.R.U.) tied tip with the Union Colours of maroon and blue. The following officers were elected : —President, MrGeorgoEdgecumbe; Vicepresidents, Messrs W. Dey (Mayor), L. Cussen, N» J. Hunt, J. Forbes, R. J. G wynno, T. G» Sandes, W, N. 0. Yon Stunner, T. Slade, L. O'Neill, J. Coatee, R, F. Sandes, Dr. Browis, T. Buxton andW. J, Gribble ; Captain, J,Hill; Deputy Capt. A. Peacock ; Hon. Secretory, C. Lequoßno; Committee, Messrs J. H. Hume, W. Hammond, F. B. Jolly, J. Hill, A, Peacock, C. Lequesne, 13. Williamson and R. Harrison ; Selection Committee, the Captain, Deputy-Captain, Messrs T. G. Sandes, W. Gribble and C. Lequesne. The colour remains as before (navy blue). The first practice mattih will be played on Sydney Square on Saturday next, when sides will be chosen on the ground. The Secretary's report stated that the Club bad won all their matched last season, thus again appropriating the caps. They bad eoored 137 points and none were scored againeb them. They had found seven members of the Waikato team in the first mate* u/ainsb Franklin, eighb members of the n...m that played Auckland and thirteen for the second Franklin match— rather a good record for the season.— (WAIKAIO CottftKBPONDKNI!.)
