METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATIONS AT RAROTONGA.
We are in receipt of the tabulated statement of meteorological observations taken at Rarotonga, the,^principal of the Cook Group ot islands, during March and aporbion of this month, for which we are indebted to Capt. Elliot, Private Secretary to His Excellency the Governor. It seems thab the maximum temperabure during this period waa 89 \ and the minimum degree of heat 73, The prevailing direction of the wind was northerly and easterly, Us maximum force being four miles an hour. The greatest rainfall in the 24 hour 3 was •31 inchea. The lowesb reading of the barometer was SO^ISO, and the highest 30*245. These observations were taken ab a height of about 12 tfeeb above mean sea level.
