EXCITING SCENE IN LONDON,

London, February 24. In spite of the mandate of tho authorities, friends of the Anarchist Bowdin attempted to make a demonstration on tho occasion of hi* funeral to-day. This was resenbod by a greab crowd which assembled in the cemetery, and hooted, hustled and spit on the mourners. Tho police, at great hazard bo themselves, protected tho cortege froln many ugly rushes on the part of tho mob, while mounted police, with great difficulty, stemmed tho crowds of people who endoavourod to gathor round the grave. Tho funeral procession was mob with cries ot " Down with anarchy," " Keep in your own country," and "No bomb business in England." The hear-o was pelted with stones, mud, and gnrbage 'by women, which especially infuriated tho mob. Subsequently a band of students smashed windows aDd doors of the Autonomy Club. At the cemetery tho police seized a largo number of flags and banners. The hearso waa wreckod, and the body would have been torn to pieces had ib nob been for the efforts of the police.
