INTERFERING WITH SURVEY PEGS.
A WARNING TO NATIVES,

Pukekohe, this day. William Thompson alias Toming Kopiu* and Pona, two natives, were summoned to appear before the R.M. Court to answer the charge of destroying and taking survey pees near the Opuatia River in the Onewhero survey district. The natives did not appear. Mr G. S. Whiteside surveyor; Jas. Whiteaide, chairman ; and' Ernest McGibbin, labourer, gave evidence for the prosecntibn. Mr J. A Tola. Crown Solicitor, appeared on behalf of the Government. Hia Worship Captain Jackson, K.M., Rave judgment, and fined the nativeß £20 each, and coats £8 19s 8d each.
