DEATH OF MR E.W. MORRAH.

Wellington, this day. Mb E. W. Morrah, Inspector of the Bank of Australasia, died rather suddenly this morning. The cause of Mr Morrah's death was failure of «the heart's action. He had complained of late of feeling unwell, but attributed ib to the hot weatber, and thought very little of it. He went into his bathroom as- usual at eight o'clock this morning, turned on the water, and, as was hi»« custom, returned to his bedroom and lay down for a few moments, until the bath filled. Soen after he gained his bed, he gasped and expired. 1 H« had always enjoyed excellent .health, and it was his boast that he had never been laid up in his life. He had.been forty-two years in the service of the Bank, having joined it in Victoriain 1851, and foivthe fast eighteen years had been Inspector, for Now Zealand. He leaves a wifo and thirteen children, most of whom are grown "up; In accordance with the Bank's rules, he should have retired some years ago, but at the request of the director*, who recognised his great ability, be remained in the service.
