A YOUNG GIRL BBFu, THE ■POLICE COUHT
At tho Police Court this morning, before Mr J. Baber and C.in^iin Anderson, J.P-'s. Ellen Brickley was charged that on tho sth November who rook v certain quantity of poison in the shape of match heads with intent to kill and murder herself. Accused, who had been in the Hospital, ■admitted the offence, and stated in reply bo the Bench that she was 17 year, of ayo. Sergt. Gamble said Lhe girl whs unwilling to go to Mrs Cowie's Home, but she was willing to be admitted to bho Salvation Army Rescue Home. Asjhe girl had promised to f.o to the Rescue Home ho would ask (hat she be discharged. A sum of £3 18s espouses had been incurred in the matter, which she would be asked to pay in due course. Tho Bench gave the girl a few words of advice and discharged her. She thon left tho Court in company with two lady officers of bho Rescue Home.
