POLICE COURT--(THIS DAY.)
(Before R. S. Bu3h, Esq., R.M.) Drunk. —Denis Sullivan was fined 20s and costs or 7 days' imprisonment in Mounb Eden, wibh hard labour. Destitute Persons Act.—John Taylor was charged with a breach of bhe Destitute Persons Acb, 1877, by refusing to obey an order of bhe Courb bhab he conbributa 12s per week towards bhe support of hia children, and permibbing arrears to tho amount of £4 10s.—Defendanb did nob appear, _Mr Strathern, of bhe Charibable Aid# Board, appeared for complainant, and said defendanb had treated the Courb wibh contempt in every instance.—Complainant! deposed bhab her husband earned £2 -per week.—Mr Strathern aßkedHis Worship to make an order tbab bhe defendanb be ordered to pay the money in a certain time, or, in default, be imprisoned.— His Worship said he would allow the caso to stand over until Saturday next to enable a settlement to be arrived ab.
