An important decision was given by Magistrate Rawsoti to-day. The Registrar of Electors for Invercargill asked for direction re enrolling a former resident of the colony, who left for Australia five years ago and returned in March last. Mr Rawaon held it waß not nocessary to have twelve months' residence immediately preceding an election, but that if a person had at any timo resided twelve months in the colony and three months in the district immediately preceding tho elections he wob entitled to have his name placed on the roll.

Mr H. H. Smith gave a limelight exhibition of views in the Devonporb Public Hall la&b evening, the views including picture? of London, the Rhine, and Alpine, America and New Zealand ccenery.
