The Presidenb of the Prohibition League says that Sir Robert Stout, Mr H. D. Bell aad Mr F. H. Fraser aro the chosen of that body for Wellington. As yeb there is no absolute certainty about Mr Bell's candidature. It is denied absolutely that Mr McLean, the sitting member, will bo chosen should Mr Bell not stand. Mr Duthie, in his published address to the electors of Wellington, states he is not desirous of continuing in political life, and ho wants it to be understood thab if a candidate of similar views comes forward before the end of this month, he should be allowed ao opportunity of retiring.
