MASHONALAND.
THE MATABELE WAR.
Capetown, October 17
Heavy rains have been falling, which it is feared will impede the movements of the British forces in Mashonaland. Sir H. Loch has invited those who were willing to serve against the Matabeles to come forward, in response to which the whole of the contingent of the Black Watch volunteered, besides others from Johannesberg. Two hundred Cape troops have been ordered to Mashonaland. The Government have selected ioo of the Black Watch and other volunteers for service in Mashonaland.
