Uonbdin, this day. A jieeting of the local branch of the Rai^' way Servants' Society held here was attended by 160, mostly from the Hillside workshops. The following resolution was carried :—" This meeting ia strongly opposed to any special insurance scheme for the railway service, and ia of opinion that the desire of the Commissioners to see their employees insured can bemore satisfactorily met by passing an Act requiring that every railway employee shall within six months after entry on the books as a permanent employee insure in gome one- insurance office doing businosa in the colony, leaving it with tho employee to choose the offico in which ho will insure."
