Dunedin, this day. In response to a telegram that over 100 men wero unemployed, the Promier has replied that tho amount now boiDg expended monthly on public works exceeded the limit fixed for which appropriation was made. The local authorities and private enterprise should lend a helping hand. It was absolutely impossible for the Governmont to find work for all requiring it.
