THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE.
Tun President oE tho Chamber of Coirilnerco received the following telegram trom Mr T. Thompson, M.H.R., with regard to tho alteration which has beon made in the San Francisco mail time-table :— 'Frisco service :—Ministor finally decided not to alter new time-table. Ho i.s forwarding yon letter giving his reasons for nob agreeing with your request. —T. Tjiomi'SOS. '' Mr Ward's explanation of the reasons which have prompted tins change will be awaited with very groat interest). Pending their receipt wo shall suspend iiHlgmanb, bub ai-present we cannot conceive of any possiblo pain to the rest of the colony from the alteration, vvhilo is is a rery distinct disadvantage to Auckland.
