IN BANKRUPTCY.
JAMES MACGRBGOR'S. CREDITORS,
AN IMPORTANT MEETING,
The first meeting of creditors in the bankrupt ostato of James McGregor, senior, of Mountßoskill Road, grocer, which was held this morning ab the office of the Auckland Official in Bankruptcy, was a most important one, as at it tho advisability of applying the penal clause in the new Bankruptcy Act was discussed. The assignee stated that its had come to his knowledge that thedebtornnd his son had ordored goods just beforo ho filed when he must havo known that ho was insolvent. The person who had 6ont tho goods out to tho dobter had called on him, but ho (Mr Lawson), informed him that hq could not. Eventually it was decided that tho matter be left in tho hands of the Official Assignee, and that ho should not tnkcanyactioji against Mr Macgregor, under clause 137 of tho Bankruptcy Act, before again consulting his creditors.
