PONY RACING.

(To the Sporting Editor.) g IB( __I would like you to explain how it is that boys riding ponies at the every day pony and trotting meetings are not allowed to take part and ride ab Ellerslie and other race meetings round Auckland under Auckland Racing Club rules. We see stewards, etc , of the Auckland Racing. Club taking part at tho pony meetings , also, fill the principal trainers, etc., are there enjoying the sport, it seems thab the Racing Club permit these parties to change thoir coat whenever wanted. Surely there is something wrong. lam surprised thab someone d o es not tako the matter up, for I fail to see why pony racing is any different to meetings at Ellerslie, or anywhere else. If the Auckland Racing Club want to put ib down, then why do they permit their servants to tako part. They allow trainers to havo trotters and train irottei-s to take part in pony meetings, yeb they seb their face against pony racing. Perhaps you can explain things for me.-I am, etc., v Enquirer.
