D.RURY. TUe Committee in their reporb state that there is nothing special to reporb except that bhe school has suffered slightly from removals. The hoad and assistant teachers still continue to discharge their duties in a very satisfactory manner. With regard to removing tho school from its presenb site, as suggested by the Board, the matter will be brought up a!) tho meeting of householders. ALEXANDRA. The report of the Commibtee states that the Committee havo mot nine times during bhe year foa- transaction of business. The attendance afc the school has fallen away considerably since last year. There are only about 22 pupils now on tho roll, being 10 less than lasti year, the daily average being aboub 17. The funds show a balance of £2 9s in hand on the olsb March. Tha Huntly'Committee state the attendance on the whole has been fairly good, considering bhe distance some of the children have to travel. The chairman in. a very brief reporb states thab everything In connection with the New Lynn school ihas moved smoothly during the year. NGARUAWAHIA. The report states that tho average roll numbor in the school for the past year hag been 137 and the average attendance 117, which tho Committee considers satisfactory. No reports of any sort against the management of fche school have reached fche committee. The head teacher and staff aro congratulated upon bhe result of the Standard examination held in Augußb last. POINT CHEVALIER. The chairman, on behalf of the Committee, states thab the numbor of children on tho school roll through several causes decreased towards the end of last year, bub ib is now gradually increasing. Thero are now 96 children on the roll, with au average of about 80. The Committee have a credit balance in tbe bank of £9 18s Id. PORT ALBERT. The Committee regrefc the very irregular attendance of children during the year, tho head teacher having to bring the matter before fche Committee several times. The Committee's reporb stated that they have met seven times during the year. The school was closed for some time in consequence of sickness. No. 1 school was opened in February last as a full time school, which has given satisfaction to the Committee and residents in the district. The school buildings are in good order. Satisfaction is expressed with the progress the children have made under the present teacher, Mv W. R. C. Walker. KIHIKIHI. The chairman of tho Committee reports that the conduct of fche school has been ; good, and the teachers have done their j work satisfactorily. The examination in Standards was very good likewise the! inspector's reporb on tho school discipline and method of teaching. GREERTON. The Committee roporfc that the efficient state of the Greerfcon School has been maintained. Daring the last few months the average attendance has fallen off in consequence of an unusual amounb of sickness that has prevailed. Making allowance for this, the attendance has been good and regular. _ „ WAYBY. The Committee report bho average attendance ab the Bchool has increased from 22 to 27. Ab the examination last November oub of 17 presented 13 passed and four failed. This is very satisfactory. Special mention is made of Miss Pascoe who, during 1 her term of two years in tho school, has pushed the scholars on very well. OTAIKA. Tho Committee roporfc that fche school is being conducted fco their entire satisfaction. The teacher is bringing tbe children on well the laab Standard examination being tho best ever held in the school. Owing to sickness among fche children, the average attendance has been reduced. TAUHOA. This Committee state bhat fche business of tho school during the year has been satisfactory Tho Committee consider that £5 ncr annum is not sufficienb for incidental expenses, and they have had to obtain monetary assistance in the district. TE MATA (RAGLAN). The Committee reporb bhat bhey have a balance iv hand of U 15s lid. At the exanimation in Standards, 15 were presented, all of whom passed. The very inclement ■ weather during lasb winter and summer has interfered with bhe attendance. WOODHILL. The chairman reports thab the most imoortant occurrence of tho year is the division of the school districb for bho purpose of forming another at Taupaki. He says thab the division brings aboub bhe existence , of 2 small schools, in which the teaching , machinery cannot be as efficient as tho ! provi ion usually made for schools having ! Troll equal to the total of tho 2 schools. TOKA TOKA. Tho chairman's brief reporb merely states ' thatthe Committee have £18 7s 5d credit , in the bank. ; The Committee reporb thab it .bothi the , schools in the Turua district, the^ duties have been carried on in a manner rotiroly ! satisfactory. The inspector's reports have been good.

WADE. j The Committee in their reporb state that the Wade and Waiwera school districts overlap, and suggest bhab the original boundaries of the Wade district be adhered to. VVAIORONGO.MAI. The Committee reporb bhab bhey have a credit balance of £16 15s lOd in hand The Standard examinations held in November lasb were most gratifying to the Committee and the inspector's reporb excellent. In connection with fche question of regular attendance, tho Committee cannot refrain from saying thab the compulsory clauses of fche Acb are a complete failure. To be of any use they should require the full abbendance as in Saxony. The roll number of the school has fallen bo 6S and bhe average abbendance bo 51.9, owing bo mining depression and removals. WAITE KAURI. The reporb of fche Committee states that theschool has been worked very satisfactorily during the year. The number of passes at fche different examinations were as follows; —-Standard examination, 35 presented, 34 passed. Pupil teachers' examination, about 35 presented, 34 passed. Pupil teachers' examination, 3 presented, all. of whom passed. Junior Civil Service i examination : 2 presented, 1 passed. Those reporbs speak for themselves as to Mr Oldham's ability as a teacher. Attention is drawn to the overcrowded state of the school. The number on the roll for the last quarter was 54 and the average attendance 42 #8. The school is only intended to accommodate 35. WAIMATE. The Committee have a balance to credit of £7 3s 6d, bub outstanding accounts will reduce this sum. There are 39 pupils on the roll, 16 of whom are primers. The rest are divided into 7 classes. Ab the last Lbandard examination, every one of the pupils presented passed. VICTORIA VALLEY. The Committee reporb thab the attendance at the school has been fair, considering tho bad state of the roads in the districb. Complaint is made of the periodical changing of teachers.
