MR MacPHERSON'S MISSION
.A social took place on Friday, 24bh insr., in connection with Mr MacPherson's mission meeting, which is hold in the old Presbyterian schoolroom, Rusaoll-street, every Friday evening. The hall was prettily decorated with ferns and flowers by the young peoplo who attend the mission.* MiGeorge Mill deaorves great) thanks for the able manner in which he performed the jirduous duties of chairman. The following programme was successfully gone through : —Piano solo, Mrs Elliot; sontr,'" Gallants of England," Mr Crawford ; instrumental duet, "Sleigh Belle," Misses Foster and Fleming ; song, " Gates of the West," Mis 3 Forjiie; recitation, "The Auctioneer," Master Percy Ivlclntosh; song, "The Long-Shoreman," Mr Foster • violin solo, Mica Niccol; this young lady gave a sec^id • solo during the evening; instrumental duet, Misses Craig; recitation, " Curfew Must Not Ring Tonight," Miss Fleecing ; song, "Anchored," Mr Mill, he also gave "The Wreck," as an, encore; vocal duet, " List to the Convent Bells," Misses Foster and Fleming ; piano solo, " The Soldier's Return," MissForgie: dialogue, "A Cure for Indigestion;" Masters Melntosh and Daviea and Miss Cooper; piano solo, "Oberon," Miss C. Fleming ; eong, "Ye Banks and Braes," Miss McQuarrie; instrumental duet, " Carary Birds," Misses Craig. Mr MacPherson and Captain Leßoy gave short speeches on the mission work, and earnestly invited the friends present to join with them and help on the work by attending the mission services every Friday evening. A very pleasant evening was brought to a close by all einging the Doxology,
