EXHIBITIONS.
The annual exhibition of the Auckland Mahlstick Club was opened on May 27 th. The Mahlstick Club has been in existence since 1884, when it was started with three members. The membership has now increased to twenty-live. There are about 130 sketches exhibited this year, nearly all out-dbor sketches. The object of the Club is to illustrate a subject chosen in the previous month, and the sketches shown are chiefly the result of this system. The last subject dealt with was "Tree trunks," and several excellent pictures have been the result. ....',,.■
