ST. BENEDICT'S DAY-SCHOOL.
On May 27 a very successful enterbainmenb by the children of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic* Day-school, Newbon, was given in the Foreatera' Hall, Newton, the proceeds being in aid of the school prize funds. The hall was crowded in every part, and an excellent musical arid miscellaneous programme was gone through by the little peoole, under the able direction of their teachers,' the Misses Coffey. The concert was followed by the pretty drama, "Cm» derella," in which the parts were taken exceedingly well by the children. Father Downey distributed the prizes as follows :— Standard Vll.—lsto prize and wreath of honour awarded to Miss Burke. The other prize-winners were Misses Caffrey and Sandford.
