Palmekston North, this day. A-si3astrot;s fire occurred "in the Square ab 3 a.m. yesterday, resulting in the loss of upwards of £4,000. Ib broke oub at the rear, of tho premises of Montague, auctioneer, and Sonvall, cabinet maker, and -within half-an-hour these were completely destroyed. None of the stock was eavod. Tho premises of Calville and Derrington, saddlers, were gutted, and Salmon, tailor, partly go. The stock from 6ho two lasb mentioned was gaved, but greatly damaged by removal and rain, which waß falling at the time. The stock of Mr Cook, cabinet-maker, oisen, tailor, Wickets and Co., drapers in the block, wero also removed, and suffered damage in the same way.
