DEPARTURES.
Takapuna, s.s., Grant, for New Plymouth and Southern ports. Passengers: Mieses Jones, Leggarb, Messrs Swinbourne, F. A. Jones, Wilson, S. A. Ford, J. Chambers, C. Kichardsou.
The Northern Co.'s s.s. Gairloch, from New Plymouth, arrived on Saturday evening with a general cargo,after experiencing a, strong north-weat breeze, accompanied with rain, and heavy seas along the coast. On Saturday night, at 9.30, the Union Company's s.s. Takapuna, 930 tons, Captain J. Grant, arrived from the South. She left Lyttelton on the 9th, Wellington on the 10th, passed New Plymouth ab 10 o'clock on the 11th, arriving as above. From Lyfctelton to arrival she experienced strong west to northwest wind, with heavy seas, having to pass New Plymouth owing to the heavy sea running along the coast. - .
