THE RICHMOND.
Messrs Donald and Edinborouwh's Island steamer Richmond, 700 tons, Captain Ri B. Hufatorr, arrived on Saturday evening from Tahiti and Rarotonga with passengers, Smongsb whom are five shipwrecked seafjtfin frora the brigantine Ryno, recently
lost ab the Islands, and a very large cargo of Island fruib and produce, pearlshell, etc. Of the round trip the purser, Mr C. E. Jones, reports that the Richmond left Auckland on May. 11th, and arrived at liafotonga on the 19fch at 4 p.m., h.aving had a fine-weather passage down. After landing passengers and cargo, she left again the same evening ab 7 o'clock, and arrived ab Papeete, Tahiti, on the 23rd ab 8 a.m., proceeding round the island on the next day to Papara and Tantira, where she loaded a full cargo of oranges, arriving in Papeete again on the 27bh. After taking in balance of cargo from that port, the Richmond proceeded on the return voyage on the 28th, arriving ab Rarotonga on i/be 31st; but owing to the bad weather was unable to finish loading produce until the 2nd of June, on which day she lefb for Auckland, arriving ab Queen-sbreeb Wharf about 7 p.m. Experienced southerly winds and bad weabher until Monday lasb, when the wind wenb into theN.W. wibh very dirty weabher unbil arrival. Afber discharging her Island cargo she goes inbo dock for overhaul and cleaning.
