Tho Acting-Governor lias apnointed tho Rev. W. Morley, Principal of the Three Kings' Wesleyuu College, a member of the Auckland University College Council.

Me.wa J. H. Upton and Jackson Palmer, M.II.R.'d, have been nominated for the ofiice of member of the Auckland University College Council. A poll for the election of one will bo hold at tho College on Monday, the 23rd inst.

The appointment ola science master of tho Auckland Collogs and Grammar School was considered jn Committee by tho Board of Governors on April 25. Mr Hugh Fraser, M.A., with honours in natural science, B.So. and 8.C.E., of the Melbourne University, was appointed.

The annual meeting of the Auckland University Students' Association was held on April 27th. Mr George Lippiatt, M.A., and Mr E. H. Barber were unanimously re-elected president aud secretary respectively. The vice-presidents elected were Messrs E. K. Mulgan and D. H. Jackson, M.A., and the Committee M isses Morrison and Smart, Messrs C. Major, Tanks, Pilkington and Wells. Several new members joined the Association.

Young New Zealanders are doing splendidly in every educational sphere in Great Britain. By the last mail Mr A. F. Porter, of the North Shore, has received intelligence that his son, Albert H. R. Porter, has carried ofTa first-ciass honour certificate and medal in the Edinburgh School of Medicine (Surgeons' Hall). He had 91 per cent, of tho attainable maximum number of mirks." This successful young student was formerly a pupil cf the Auckland College and Grammar School. He subsequently studied in the Auckland University College, and was a year at the Dunedin University.

The result of the last New Zealand University examinations is now to hand. At a special meeting of the University Senate, at Dunedin, it was agreed that the degree of Master of Arts be conferred on D. H. Jackson, R. C. MacLaurin, Auckland; YY. Burnsido, A. Campbell, Isabel Ecclesfield, Catherine Ferguson, J. McKenzic, Otago ; W. D. Milne, H. Northcote, Canterbury; T. D. Pearce, Otago ; F. A. Peznberton, Janet M. Prosser, Canterbury : C. F. Salmon, A. Stenhouse, J. G. Stuart, Marion S. White, Otago ; R, Speight, Canterbury. The College was recorded as having gained second class honours in geology. The degree of Bachelor of Arts was conferred on H. Currie, E. F. Field, F. G. Gibson, Catherine D. Grant, H. Horton, C. F. Major, Orme C. Morrison, F. Neave, Elsie J. Shrewsbiuy. all of Auckland, and over thirty-seven Southern graduates. Auckland carried ofl' tho first honours. The degree of Bachelor of Science way conferred on J. S. MacLanrii!, Auckland ; J. S. Tennant, 8.A., Otajro ; C. E. Adams, B. S. Bull, M.A.-H. L. Kidd, P. Marshall, Canterbury. The John Tinlino scholarship of IS9I was awarded to Alethea C. Tendali.
