LANTERN MISSION.

Notwithstanding the powerful counter attractions last night, the Foresters' Hall was well filled at tho usual Wednesday evening limelight lantern mission service. Mr Gso. Aldridgo gave a very interesting and telling address on " Tho Words and Works of Jesus." He emphasised what ho had pointed out on previous evenings, that the ono great central theme of the words and teaching of the Son of God was " the Kingdom of God." That Kingdom was described by Daniel the prophet as "the Kingdom under tho wholo heavens," and was to be a divine political administration of affairs social, political and physical upon this earth. The city of Jerusalem, restored to more than its ancient grandeur, was to be tho metropolis. He forcibly described several of tho miracles which Jesus performed, and stated that they were wrought by "tho powors of the age to come," that they constituted earnests and pledges to us that Jesus will possess all the essential qualifications to bo the Supreme Monarch of the whole earth ; that He well possesses the power to relieve the distressed, feed the hungry, and restore physical strength and vigour to tho diseased, and thus through Him all families of tho earth shall be blessed. The pictures illustrating Mr Aldridge's address each evening aro thrown upon a hugo 20 feet sheet, and most powerfully and vividly portray tho various incidents in the life of Christ. The ones shown last night wero by such astists aa Garton Dore, and wero fine. Photographs of Chrisb healing the demoniac, Feeding the multitude, walking upon tho sea, tho mount of transfiguration, etc. A spieodid statuary called the three Mary's, and some fino views of tho places where the various miracles were supposed to havo been wrought. Mr Chas. Cooper again efficiently worked tho limelight.
