VICTORIAN RAILWAYS.
RETRENCHMENT SCHEME. Mklbogrne, this day. The Government have adopted the new Railway Commissioners' scheme of retrenchment, by which it is calculated a year will be saved. This will be effected by reducing the mileage run by trains and increasing the rates, and by a reduction in ail salaries by a certain amount.
