SALE OF PRIVILEGES.
To - day tho sale of privileges in connection with tho farewell raco-meeting to Lord and Lady Onslow took place at D. B. Tonka' mart. Tho buyers were: — Grand stand bar, £31, Q.uinlan ; lean-to bar, £.'>:{, Quintan ; No. 1 booth, £22, Mrs Ziefjler; solo right of refreshment wtall«, £5 12a fid, Mm Mcintosh ; curds, £37, W. Blomfield ; stnblkg, £2 15s, Parker. Tho total amount of tho privileges was £137 17s 6d.
Tho Committee of tho Takapuna Jockey Club held a meeting la3t night, to consider certain matters in connection with the Summer Meeting. It was resolved to sustain tho protest against Lucy Locket in the First Handicap Hack Raco, and Orini was declared the winner. Tho protest against Kildare in the Second Handicap Hack Race was deferred till another meeting. George Wright and the jockey Gallagher were examined with reference to the running of Van Diemen. Further evidence is to be taken, and the matter was adjourned till this afternoon.
Acceptances for the Onslow Meeting and entries for the Lake races close to-night.
" Sport" writes a letter with reference to reversals of form at the Summer Meeting ot the Takapuna Jockey Club. Ho wishes to know why tho stewards pick out the owner of Van Dietnen and lot other owners escape. " Sporb " concludes his letter as follows : — " Of course, I don't expect for a moment to hear of an inquiry being hold into the running of nny local horses, but the Takapuna Jockey Club need not forget that even if they ignore the necessity for so doing, the Metropolitan Club can and in all probability will do so."
