THE RICHMOND'S CRUISE.
The s.s. Richmond, 840 tons (Capt. R. Button), Messrs Donald and Edenborough's smart Island trading packet, returned to port yesterday afternoon from her usual South Sea cruise down to Tonga, Samoa, Tahiti and Rarotonga, bringing back about a score of passengers and a cargo of copra, pearlshell, and general island produce. Of the round trip Mr C. E. Jones, acting-purser, reports that the steamer left Auckland on January 12, arrived at Tongatabu on the 18th, and at Apia (Samoa) on the 21st at 6 p. m. She left Samoa at 12.30 p.m. on the 22nd nit, arrived at Papeete (Tahiti) at noon on the 28th, left again at 3.30 p.m. next day, called at Rarotonga on the 2nd inst., and left there again for Auckland direct on the same evening, after loading some cargo. Fine weather was experienced throughout.
