FIRE IN STANLEY-STREET.
About two o'clock this morning a fire occurred in a three-stalled stable in Stanleystreet occupied by horses belonging to Mr William Powley, cab proprietor, lb appears that a lad named Percy Trenwith, who lives in Alten Road, was awakened by hearing horses kicking madly. He got up, and seeing thab the stable was on firs,' at once informed-Mr Powley, after which ho ran and rang the alarm from the Parnell bell. Owing to bhe early discovery of the fire, Mr Powley and some others wero able to save tho building before much damage had occurred to the stable. Unfortunately, bhe horse that was in the box where tho fire evidently originated, was badly burned. Mr Powley states that when he bedded the horses a little after 8 p.m. everything seemed all right.
