DUNEDIN FLOODED.
(BY TELEGRA-H. —PRESS ASSOCIATiON.)
Dunedin, this day. The rainfall was so phenomenally heavy on Saturday that a few of the down pipes were unable to carry off the water, In the Arcade several shops were completely flooded, much damage'being done to stocks. The water poured down the sides of Ro3s and Glendenning's warehouse, flooding the cellars and causing several bales of tweed bo floab about. Kempthorne and Proaser'a warehouse and Reynolds' store were also badly visited. The shops on the southern side of Rattray-street would have been badly flooded had the rain lasbed much, longer. Aa it was, the water poured over the floors of Adair's (jeweller) and McFerran's (chemist), accumulating in bhe backroom of bhe latter, while the neighbouring restaurant was completely swamped at the rear of the premises.
