MILITARY TOURNAMENT.
TWO AUCKLAND COUNTRY CORPS ENTER. ~ , .

Wellington, this day. The Executive of the New Zealand Military Tournament, which takes place here on the 7th and 9th of November, have decided to extend the date of closing of entries until noon on Saturday, the 24th inst. This is being done at the urgent requesfe of a number of corps whose headquarters aro at a distance.- Entries from the crew of H.M. warships do nob close before the 6th, or a couple of days after the vessels are expected here. Upwards of 300 entries for the various events were received up to Saturday night and it is expected that the number will be increased to fully 600.
Among the entrioe are those of the Wairoa Mounted Infantry, South Franklin Mounted Rifles, Marlborough Hussars, Heretaunga Mounted Infantry, YVaiuku Cavalry, Napier, Lytfcelton, and Wellington Artillery, Wellington City and Napier Rifles, Permanent Artillery, Wellington Guards, Napier, Wellington and Pebone Navals, Canterbury Mounted Rifles, Otago Hussars. Several other corps have intimated their intention of competing. The visitors will be enbertained ab a social and dance on Monday, 9th November.
