FRUITGROWERS' ASSOCIATION.
A Fruitgrowers' Association was formed at Otahuhu laab night, and the usual stepe taken to make it a practical organisation. A number of fruitgrowers, residents in the districts of Otahuhu, Papatoitoi, Otara, Woodside, and East Tamaki, met in the Masonic Hall, Mr A. Sturges in the chair. After an expression of opinions as to the desirability of co-operation amongst the fruitgrowers of the district, it was resolved that a Society be formed, to be called the Otahuhu Fruitgrowers' Association. Mr Lippiatt was elected President; Mr McLaughlin, Vice-President; MrG. B.Hutfcon, J. P., Hon. Secretary. A few shorb speeches were made by Messrs Forster, Scarborough, Stmrges and Cowsill, upon the desirability of co-operation and exchange of friendly advice from kindred societies, and from the expressed views of the members ife seems probable that considerable space will be secured in homewardbound steamships for the coming season's crop of fruit.
