A STEAMER'S EXPERIENCE.
EXTRAORDINAP.Y STATEMENTS,
Albany (W.A.), October 8. The steamer Summerfield has arrived from Hamburg. Three of the crew died in bhe Red Sea and two committed suicide by jumping overboard. Two more attempted suicide on arrival here, and were only rescued with difficulty. The passengers who are mostly English, gave an extraordinary account of the treatment suffered on the voyage and the hardships undergone. The diet was insufficient, and nearly all required medical treatment. They allege the crew were badly treated', and thab bhe men commibbed suicide to put an end to their sufferings.
