AUCKLAND RUGBY UNION.
THE DISTRICT SCHEME AGREED TO
A general meeting of the Auckland Rupby Union took place last night at the British Hotel. Mr A. E. Devore (President) occupied the chair. A long discussion took, place on the new district scheme. Various, suggestions and alterations were made in the boundaries, as suggested by the Committee, - and ib was eventually agreed to form seven districts defined as follows :—Ponsonby, City, Newton, Grafton, Parnell, North Shore, and Suburbs, The various Clubs belonging to the Union will be supplied with tho boundaries agreed on in due course, and tho scheme will be given atrial at the expiration of the Cup contests. A suggestion by Mr Hyaras (delegate of the Grafton Club), to the effect that the members of tho present Clubs be allowed the choice of playing for their clubs or for their own districts, wae discussed, and ib was finally decided that the delegates lay before their clubs both suggestions and report to a general meeting of the Union, to be held in a fortnight's time. The Senior and Junior Cup programme for the season was held over till the beginning of next week, when the " draw" will take place. The Waipu Club was admitted %n the Union a* a country club, und tho following cluba were elected, and wili play as second juniors :—Victoria, Albany, True Blue, Clifton, Victoria 11., and Terrace.
