Sir, —Allow me to contradict'the statement published in Thursday night's Star, in which you say that six members of the Committee resigned in consequence of a disagreement; with tho Chairman, Mr Thwaites. To begin with, there were only six members on the Committee, and thi3 tho second tiino you have published this statement, whoever gave you the information does not spoak tho truth. The lirfit time was on the 13th of December last, but I do nn6 '.vi.sh to interfere with that letter at present. I will settle that in a diffcrciib way by-and-by.— I am, etc., Thomas Tjiwaites.
