SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

The question was raised at the Board of Education meeting this afternoon whether a householder, having , children at school and not being resident in that district, could vote at the annual election of its School Committee: The Board's solicitor gave it ac his opinion that a householder so situated could not be elected on the Committee, but could vote at the election of a Committee for the district, in which ha had children attending school. The Chairman of the Board pointed out that this was a most unsatisfactory state of affairs, as there was nothing to prevent a householder having children at half-a-dozen different schools, and claiming to vote at each. It was resolved to defer the matter till the legal opinion was received in writing.
