MANAGER.S' REPORTS.

Orcando.—The manager reports that since the opening out of the hangingwall reef it never looked so well as at present. The gold seems more generally distributed. A start has been made to open upon Carpenter's reef. Crushing will commence next week.

Junction. —The manager reaffirms his belief that some good reefs will be met with in the crosscuts. ,

Hongkong.—The malinger reports that the country is getting tighter. The leader is about one foot wide, and the stone looks very well.

Fi-ViNG Cloud.—Th6 manager reports that in taking down the reef some strong blotches of gold were seen distributed through the quartz. Gold could also be seen in diil'erent places along the rise, especially in the western end. Some pieces of stone have beeoa secured showing strong gold, such as the Sons of Freedom reef produces when it makes a patch of gold.

Calliope.—The manager-reports that the drive is within 13 feet of the boundary. He expects to get a large reef ishortly.

Norfolk.—The manager reports that the reef will average eight feet and gives fair prospects. Souvenir. — T"he manager reports thab 17 loads of dirt was crushed for l_!oz retorted gold.

Saxon.—The manager reports that No. 2 break has boen cub in No. 6 level and a few pounds of splendid stone were obtained.

Puhipuhi Prospectoks.—The manager reports re No. 1 level on No. 3 reef :—This level has bean extended 46 feet during the week, making a total of 280 feet northward from the crosscub on the reef. The reef looks a strong body of quartz with good walls, and all that could be desired for carrying good silver. Surface level on No. 3 reef: This levelhas been extended 30 feet during the week and has turned out excellent stone. Everything tends to show a good run of silver stone going down into No. 1 level, which will prove a most valuable block of ground. Splendid specimens of stone from the main reef and also from the Blue reef 6 feet wide in the bed of the creek. The tramway is nearly completed ; the only work to be done is to connect the mine with the kilns. The battery is also approaching completion, and the water race and dam will be finished nexb wees.

Moanataiari. — The manager reports that the intermediate drive on the Reuben Parr reef above 200 feet level has touched the north corner of the main drive, which proves they are on a branch of this lodo. The quartz looks well, but no gold has been seen here. The footwall lode is at present from 2 to 3 feet thick, which carries a little gold, but no picked stone has been obtained. At the 100 feet level the quartz is shaping rather poorly, therefore the men employed driving south have been removed and started to sink on the footwall lode eastwaid of the break close to the point where the reef alters its course. Occasionally a few pounds of picked stone are obtained from the vertical lead in the western drive. The s.opes on this lead are looking better.
