Tho tenth annual sessional the Protestant Allianco Friendly Society of Australasia has just concluded its sibling ab the Thames. A good number of representatives wore present. Tho W.G.M., Bro. David Anderson, presided, and after the roll of lodges had been called and representatives' certificates received and examined, the Grand Executive presented their report., which showed that during bho your there had boon a steady and satisfactory progress made both financially and numerically. Tho financial abatement showed thab during the ten yoars just ended £.'','.)32, 10s lOd had boon spent in assisting sick members, leaving a balance in the sick fund of £2,936 2s 3d. Funeral donations have been paid to the amount of j. 1,005, leaving a balance in tho funeral fund of £2,147 3s 3d. The amount of interest collected during tho year, viz., £131 Ss, has been more than sufficient to meet tho calls for funeral donations, which amounted to £120, for three of tho brethren and throe wives. (This Society pays at the death of a member £25, and at the death of a member's wife, £15.) This is a decrease of funeral donations from thab of the previous year by £10. Tho sick pay for tho year amounted to £584, 17s 7d, and the number of those initiated was 92. Application was received from Ngapara for a dispensation to open a lodge in that district, which was granted. Joynb and R. Carr, G. auditors. After the installation of officors tho session closed in due form. H.A.C.B. SOCIETY SPORTS. St. Patrick's Day was the occasion of a Roman Catholfc jcte in tho Domain. Some 2,000 schoolchildren, as wellas the H.A.C.B. Society, took part in tho procession to the Domain. At one o'clock tho annual sports in connection with the H.A.C.B. Society commenced under the supervision of the following officers : Starter, Bro. S. Fairweather ; judges, Bros. Little and W. [I. Pohlcn ; handicappers, Bros. E. O'Hare, P. O'lvanc and J. Ryan. The results wero as follows : — Maiden Race, 120 yards.—P*. Koonan, 1; M. Flynn, 2 ; Buckley. 3. Juvenilis Handicap, 120 yards. — R. Keenan, 1 ; A. Buckley, 2 ; VV. Mahoney, 3. Fourteen started. 100 Yakds Rack, for members over 40-— M. llogan, 1 ; J. McKeon, 2. Three others also ran. St Patrick's Handicap, 200 yards.— It. Noonan, 1 : J. McDonnell, 2; M. J. Coylo, 3.
