FIELD SPORTS & AQUATICS.
The final match for tho championship eineles between Messrs Morrison and Goodhue was played on March the 14th on tho Grafton Road ground. Tho firsb game was a long one, deuce and vantage being called frequently, but eventually Mr Goodhue won, and also the following game. Condition now' began to tell, and Goodhue, although playing a plucky and wellfought game, was not strong enough for his opponent, and lost the next two sets as follows : 3 games bo 6, and 1 bo 6, Mr Morrison thus winning the match and the championship by 3 sets to 1; 23 games to 15. In regard to the play the hitting was not fast and decisive, but for steady and persistent returns the match has perhaps rarely been equalled in Auckland. Mr Goodhue's style was sure aud steady hitting, combined with placing, bub he lacks power in volleying.

After a couple of very hard sets Miss Mowbray was declared the winner by 7—5 in each set. This is her fifth win in the Championship. Miss Spiers, though beaten, played a very good game.
