BOWLING TOURNAMENT.

CiißisTCHimcH, this day. Thkre is beautiful weather for the New Zealand Bowliug Association's Champion Kink Tournament which commenced today. No fewer than 36 rinks will compete. ' Dunedin Clubs have entered 11 rinks ; Green Island Club, 2 rinks; Lawrence, Milton, Taieri, 1 each ; and o<imaru Clubs, 5. Wellington Club is sending 2 rinks and Christcnurch Club enters 13 rinks. Three rinks from Timaru will compete, nob in tournament, but for the medals given by the Association for comDetition among clubs. The members who arrived on Satui'day night were meb and warmly welcomed by the representatives of the local clubs. To-day will be devoted to the interprovincial matches. The iirst games played were Canterbury v, Caledonian (Dunedin) and Canterbury v. Rosiyn. The games resulted as follows :— Canterbury, No. 1 rink : 20, 3, 27, 4, 11 ; total, 58. Caledonian, No. 1 Rink : 20, 3, 13, 4, 13; total, 66. Canterbury, No. 2 Rink : 10, 5, 13. Roslyn, No. 2 Rink : 30, 5, 20 : total, 50. The winners were Caledonian, 8 points ; Rosiyn, 27 points.
