BATTERY FOR KUAOTUNU.

Sir, —I see in Saturday's iseue a letter suggesting a battery should be erected at Kuaotnnu to work the live claims Red Mercury, M'ariposa, Carbine, Kuaotunu and Just in Time. As I happen to hold shares in all these mines, I should be willing to subscribe 3d a shave for the purpose, and think the idea a splendid One, as tho field can't go ahead until batteries are erected, and 1 hope all the other. shareholders will see the matter in the same light .as your correspondent and myself.— I am, etc.,
