WELLINGTON.
Efforts are being made to secure unity for the labour ticket. The Unions, representing about a thousand votes, advertise Messrs Frasor, McLean and McDonald as their candidates ; but outside these arc the Seamen, Wharf Labourers, Railway Servants and others, most of whom support Mr G. Fisher. There is also a feeling in farour of asking Mr Winter to stand for Wellington. There is a proposition to hold a mass meeting of Unionists and take a ballot, on the understanding that the three candidates thus selected shall receive tho block labour vote, which is estimated afc nearly 2,000.
Tho •'Times" says this would probably resulb in favour of Messrs McLean, Fisher and T. K. McDonald.
