Try Fluke.—Tho manager reports that the low level is in 115 feet. In the early parb of the week theroef was eighb feeb wide, bub has become mixed with mullocky veins, leaving aboub two feeb of well defined reef in bhe centre, which yields smali prospects when pounded. The manager thinks that this mixture is bub temporary. Tho reef in the intermediate level shows signs of coming slightly westward. In No. 6 stope south' the reef is 5 feeb wide, and the hanging and centre portion prospect well. The reef in No. 6 stope north is 7 foeb wide, and the hangingwall portion bears very good gold. No. 5 stope will be continued towards the Carbine to form an intermediate level. Tho battery return for the fortnight, including boxes for one month, was 3300z from 186 tons of ore.

New Moanataiam.—The manager reports thab the lode in the eastern drive continues to show gold ab every breaking down, and is now a strong body of stone again, nearly 2fb t i: ck. Since passing through the break the lode ie more solid. In tho second stope the reef is being broken oub for fully 2|ft in width, all of which is good payable dirt. A considerable tonnage of dire is coming to hand from the western end of the Reuben Parr reef, bub ib is not oE bo good qualiby as the footwall lode. The drive on the course of bhe break has nob yet reached any of the hangingwall leaders. The manager thinks ihab the large body of stone in the eastern end of the chamber ab the 200 foob level may prove to be idonticai with bhe Golden Age reef. The general dirt at the battery is shaping much the same, 170oz of coldwater amalgam having been obtained for the week.'

They visited the mine on Saturday in company with Mr Dreyor, the Company's surveyor, Mr Norbby, a large shareholder, and a very old expert minor. It was decided to start on Monday bo carry in a low level 145 foot, which will intersect a winze from which soz to bhe ton was obtained, bub owing to a heavy flow of water had to be abandoned. When driven, this will give 600 feet on lino of a reef which has proved very rich in the upper workings, and, judging by the yield from the winze, should provo a valuable section of the mine. Ib was also decided to carry on the upper level in the Mudlark section. This properby they purchased from Lang and party, who, after spending four montha'dead work, had just reached tho reef from which very rich specimens were obtained. This reef is intact to surface, and runs 500 feeb through the mine. There is a level below this, carried in 500 feeb, in which two reefs were cub, bub nob worked.

Mountain Flower.—Work on behalf of tho recently formed company was commenced to-day. The reef in the winze which recently produced parcels of picked Btone, is now being stripped, and the manager is sanguine bhab the picked stone will continue downwards.

Wairoa G.M.C—The mine managor reports : The crosscub has been extended 8 feeb during bhe week, and we have now a nice blue sandstone country. A libtle waber is coming from the face. We Bhall have to drivo a little furbher than I at first estimated, as the reef takes a turn and crosses over the hill which has been proved from trenching on the obher side. The leader cub lasb week on the branch on tho eastorn side junctions with tho big reef. I have started to drive on this reef,, which is 3 feet thick and carries a fair prospect of gold. This will provo tho big reef and we can reach the juncbion.of the leader in the trench about 70 feeb below the surface after 60 foeb of driving.

Lady Carrincton.—The manager reports that the low level has been extended to 220 feet, and about 25 feeb additional should bring them to the big reef. Saxon.—The manager reports that the winze on No. 1 main reef has been sunk 10 feet additional. The reef is 4 feeb thick, heavily mineralised, shows strong blotches of gold, and 101b of fair picked stone were obtained. The indications are still favourable. Tho new reef still shows gold, and also at No. 4 level on the same reef.

Koh-i-noor. —The manager reporbshaving traced the Black Jack reef into this company's ground, and two obher reefs have been oub.

Bonanza.—The manager reports that he has found two reefs carrying gold. , One of them is parallel to No. 2, and the other to the White reef. Mr McArthur, mining expert, from Sydney, visited the mine during the week, and spoke very favourably of the lower levels, and was pleased with the general appearance of the mine.
