THE RAILWAY SERVANTS.

The ordinary meeting of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants was held on Saturday evening at the Bnfcomarb wotel There was an attendance of about fifty members. A recommendation from fbe Committee that a banner be obtained for tbe Society for the occasion of the-forth-poming Eighb Hours Demonstration was agreed to. A good deal of correspondence was received and dealt with, including a letter from the Trades and Labour Council, intimating the necessity of a labour being started in Auckland, and _ thtfj if sufficient support was forthcoming it would be commenced without delay. After some discussion, it was unanimously resolved, " That every support be accorded tho labour organ", as desired by the Council." In response to a communication from the Eight Hours Demonstration Committee, six members volunteered to assist on demonstration day in carrying oub the work ab bhe Domain grounds.
