Wellington, this day. Mb G. J. McDowell's residence at Oriental Bay was burned down last night. Mrs McDowell dropped a kerosene lamp, which burst and sec the whole house on fire. Little was saved. The house was built a year ago at a cost of £1,060. The insurance is £600 on the house and £400 on the furniture in the Phoeuix, and the losa is beyond £800.
