THE GRAND PRIZE OF PARIS.

Le Nord's fiasco in tbe Grand Prize of Paris on Sunday, was oiily./a.degree less disastrous than Surefoots in the Derby. "Tout Paria" declared on Baron Rothschild's colt both to win and for a place, and yet the wretch failed to finish in the first half-dozen. There were twelve runners altogether, but only three, LeNord, the French Oaks winner Wandora, and the dark English horao Oddfellow (by Barcaldine—Gebeimniss) had heavy metal behind them. Le Nord never showed prominently, and Wandora failing to stay was done for at the distance, from which point two French outsider., Fitz - Roya and FitzHampton, assumed the lead. A good race ensued between thia p|ir and Oddfellow, but Fitz-Roya ultimately drew away and won by a length from Fitz-Hampton, the Englishman running a good third. The starting prices were 6 to 4 Le Nord, 5 to 2 Wandora, 7 to 1 Oddfellow, 12 to 1 Miraboau, 20 to 1 Fitz-Roya, 40 to 1 Fitz-Hamp-ton. The winner belongs to Baron Schickler and is by Atlantic—Perplexit.. Another big pot boiled over at Sandown last Friday, when Signorina, on whom odds of 9 to 4 were laid, swerved in the last few strides and got boa ten a head by Lactantius. This was in the Electric Stakes of 2,ooosovs over live furlongs, and there were were several other runners, but the race and the betting lay between the pair named. Mr Rothschild's colt stuck unpleasantly cloao to the once crack filly throughout, but all, save those ab the post, thought she, and not Lactantius, had jusb won.
