London, July 22. The English Players were not disposed of till they had pub together 173. Again there were 18,000 people at Lords to witness the cricket match. The weather was fine, and the wicket improved. Ulyett was batting two and a-half hours, and never gave a chance. The fielding of the visitors was excellent. In England's first innings Turner took one wicket for 53, Ferris 2 for 55, Trott 0 for 16, Trumble 1 for 17, and Lyons 5 for 31.

In their second innings the Australians have lost nine wickets for 168. Lyons, bowled Barnes, 33; Turner, lbw, b Peel, 2; Murdoch, b Lohmann, 19 ; Gregory, c Lohmann, b Barnes, 9; Charlton, lbw, b Grace, 2; Blackham, c Barnes, b Grace, 10; Trott, c Ferris, lbw, b Lohmann, 8 ; Trumble, c Barnes, b Lohmann, 5 ; Barrett, not oub, 63 ; Barnes, not out, 15 ; extras, 2 ; total for nine wickets, 168. Barrett was ab the wickets four hours, and made runs by perfect cricket. Burns played a plucky innings. Lyons knocked up his score in23.minutes. . The fielding of the English team was again very fine. Lyons bowled brilliantly in the first innings of England, and Blackham behind the wickets was greatly admired. Barrebt played a very patient innings, and was at the wickets fully an hour before moving, He was loudly cheered at the end of the day's play.
