"BARNES OF NEW YORK."

LAST TIME TO-NIGHT.

"Mr Barnes of New York " was produced for the third time in Auckland last evening by the Sb. Maur Company, in Abbott's Opera House. There was hardly such a good attendance as the attractions of the play merited, bub this was no doubt in a great measure due to the unpleaeanbly web weather prevailing. The rapidly-shiftingscene3 of the drama rivetted the attention of the audience throughout, and in the more thrilling portions of the play especially the interest was intense. The actors and actresses took their various parts in better style, if possible, than on the two previous evenings, and all did credit to their roles. The leading artistes, Mr Harry St. Maur and Miss Seymour, were again enthusiastically received. Tho orchestra deserve a word of praise for. the excellent music rendered between the acts. "Mr Barnes of New York," with his Yankee twang-and his characteristic "I guess," will hold the boards again to-nighb, this being the last performance of the piece here. The play is a powerful and intensely interesting one, and those who have not seen it should take the opportunity to night. "ARABIAN NIGHTS" TO-MORROW. To-morrow and Saturday nights the company will play Sydney Grundy's farcical comedy, " The Arabian Nights," which is said to be even funnier than "The Private Secretary."
