FIRE AT PAPAKURA.

Constable Knight reports from Papakura that a barn belonging to Dr. Bodle, of Papakura Valley, was burnt down on Saturday evening , last about half-past ten. Dr. Bodle states that about nine one of the men employed by him put a reaper and binder into a lower room of the barn, which was two-storied, using a candle for the purpose. All then appeared safe, but about half-past ten one of the doctor's sons discovered the lofb in flames. Most of the farming implements were saved but the building itselt was destroyed. Somerville, a man employed on the place, slept in the barn and is a smoker, but is confident that all was safe when he went to bed about half-past; nine. Dr. Bodle values the barn ab £200, and bhe implements destroyed at from £40 to £50. The building was insured, bub for what amount is nob known.
